Hi Guys and Girls

https://flyshooter.com.au/registration/fly-nationals-2024-perth-wa/

Just putting up a quick post with dates for Fly Nationals so everyone can get stuff organised.

I will have more info soon

and being WA and our shit gun laws that are made up I will need to do a permit for people coming over, I will need names, address, gun serial numbers, how much ammo you are bringing etc then I will have to forward this to the firearms branch so they can approve it and then I can send a copy to everyone, pain in a the arse but hey we are special in WA. this will not cost you anything but if you decide to come at the last minute and I've already finalised the permit to enter WA with firearms you will need to organise your own permit and that costs about $85 from memory

more details to come but the range is about 20 odd mins out of Joondalup, so plenty of places to stay around

Friday will be Practice and flag set up, Sat LG, Sun HG and Mon RF. will post more pics of range and etc but don't really need huge poles unless you want some between 400 to 480m all the rest we only really use 1200 to 1800mm rods then put BRT poles in them or none at all depending on the mound.. we have mounds at 2-3-400ms roughly

RF you will only need the BRT poles but will get some pics up for those that haven't been before

Lunch and drinks will be supplied on Sat, Sun and Monday

any questions just give Keiton  or Myself a buzz

Ok people, since WA is the worst state for firearms and people coming over from the other states into WA.

i need to orgainse a Group Temporary permit for you all coming over and i need to have this application in no later than a month before shoot, you miss this application you will have to organise your own and it will cost you $131 and you need to sort it out

can you please supply me the information for Part B and details for Members of the group section, i will also need copies of interstate applicants must include a copy of their Firearms Licence, club memberships (SSAA card)

and send to my email

[email protected]

Hi Stuart,

Thanks for the info, just have a couple of follow up questions which might be important or of interest to others making the trip west.

1. Accomodation - Is Joondalup the closest? Is there anywhere in particular that you would recommend? Might be nice if a few of us were together.

2. Ammo - Are there any restriction on ammo numbers as I will travel with enough ammo for two shooters for the 3 days? I will drive over and Kathy will fly in for the weekend.

I am still waiting on my new rifle build so hopefully it will be ready in the next month so I can bring it over as well. So looking for to heading west and seeing you all again.

Cheers

Dave Dundas

@jetpilot  Hi Dave

yeah Joondalup would be the closest that I know of for hotel/apartment type accommodation. last nationals I know the guys got a share house for the week/weekend near me in Banksia Grove, Currambine, Tapping area

ammo no restrictions just need to know how much you are bringing to fill out that permit above

Nice work people Nominations have started rolling in and here is a list of people so far

image

I have included who is sharing with who, the names in Yellow is from others saying they are sharing with them but the other people haven't put in a nomination yet

Also people coming over from outside of WA can you please fill out Section B and the Members of Group section (eg address, phone numbers etc) of the Firearms Temp Permit only and send to me with a copy of your Gun Licence and SSAA card please to [email protected]

https://flyshooter.com.au/wp-content/uploads/wpforo/attachments/49/215-LSF17Form-6-Temporary-Permit-Application-v26.pdf

I will need to put this form in in a 2/3 weeks and if I don't have your information you will have to fill out this form yourself and send in and this will cost you $ if you miss this Group permit (which wont cost you anything)

cheers

FLAGS FOR WA RANGE

RF you will only need small stuff

20240512 080652

CF there are mounts at 200m, 300m and approx. 380m and at 490m which you can use a 1500mmx19mm shower rod from bunning to push into the ground and then sit your BRT flag in .. in between these if you want to use a flag you will need 2 to 4meter poles at a guess (we never use them)

see vid for drive along

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=swq-BuqSrTc

from about 150 meters into bench you can use a 1800mmx19mm shower rod then your BRT flag on top of that and just use you eye to see them, you will need a spike in ground at this distance to keep pole up
