Hello everyone. The 2024 Shooter of the Year results have been updated.
All rimfire events have been completed, and congratulations goes to Dave Groves who wrapped up the 2024 rimfire SOTY. With 3 match wins and a 3rd place he managed a very impressive 390 points with a total of qualifying score 1076.24. Dave can add this to his entry into the Hall of Fame this year and new national rimfire total score record. It has certainly been a big year of achievements for Dave. (2nd in rimfire went to Dave Dundas, 366, and 3rd to Matty Riches, 357)
With one more centrefire registered match to go (Little River - 2nd Nov), the Light Gun, and Heavy Gun Shooter of the Year are both very much still open, with a number of shooters still able to take out the top spot depending on the results from this last match.
Light Gun currently sees Matty Riches sitting in first on 370, close behind in second is Michael Bell on 360, and just behind him are Eli Groves and Kathy Dundas, both on 345.
Heavy Gun currently sees Mark Welsh in first place first place on 360. Nipping at his heals is Matty Riches on 357 and in third place is Dave Zucconi on 335.
With the final match this weekend, and the bench draw officially released, it is time for an update with possible shooter of the year results.
Heavy Gun will be fought out between Mark Welsh and Scott Benson.
Mark is currently in the leaders position, however if Scott can finish 1st or 2nd this weekend and ahead of Mark he will take the win.
Light Gun currently sees Matty Riches in the lead. With Michael Bell and Eli Groves both shooting this weekend to try and take the crown.
Belly will need to finish 1st or 2nd and ahead of Eli in to secure the crown. While Eli will need a top 3 finish and ahead of Belly for Shooter of the year bragging writes.
Good luck to all competitors. It certainly will be interesting seeing the results from this weekend.
The 2024 Registered Fly Season has finished.
And we can finally announce the Official 2024 Shooter of the year winners.
