There has been the idea of having a “Postal” competition for Fly floating around for a while. SO, lets have a go!

This is an unofficial postal competition, purely a try, test and refine as we go scenario. There are no prizes, at least for this year.

The 3 Shoot Cap from Mackay (Peter A), Gladstone (Mick T) and Brisbane (Vince V) and myself have put together a plan. Working on the KISS process… Keep It Simple Stupid… and we are excited to put it into play. So here goes! this is how we are going to roll for a start.

  1. 200yrd Rimfire competition. (Look at CF down the track)
  2. It is based on individuals scores, not a Branch against Branch score etc..
  3. Shot in accordance with the National Rule book for Fly.
  4. Each month the Highest score by a competitor shot at Mackay, Gladstone or Brisbane 200yrd Fly Branch match will be entered.
  5. Only one score per competitor per month.
EG: I will shoot at Mackay, Gladstone and Brisbane possibly in March. My highest score in that month will count towards the Tri Branch series.
  6. The winner is decided on the top 8 scores they achieve through the year 2023 from shooting at any of the 3 branches above.
  7. Prizes: This is for bragging rights only.

Below is the current standing for Jan with Mackay yet to still hold there Jan Match.

Look forward to seeing how this goes.

Tri Branch 200 yrd Fly Postal Competition update:

Just to add a little umm… fun now that the Gladstone scores are in for the month! Mr Michael Truscott now holds the higher ground!

Mitchell Calcutt was a top of the leader board at the end of May. To retain his lead, he must shoot a 247.04 YES .02 better than his May score! Mitch they say you are only as good as your last score hmmm… hope there wrong.
Uncle Vv Vincent Vaina if you desire the Prestigious place of Postal Champion, to stand atop of the podium and proclaim “Pork on Ya Fork” you will need 276.03 and hope the Mitch shoots well... but not too well!
Chris Parry the one and only designer of the Chris Chrono load development tool. If you wish to have Mick, Mitch and Uncle Vv wanting to pay handsomely for your amazing Load Development Tool, you will need to shoot a 286.03, and Pray they have not secretly infiltrated the Chris Crono labs and stolen your secretes…

NOTE to all:
We have amended rule 4, to now include Nationally Reg matches at the 3 branches. As there is now a Reg Match on the National Calendar for the end of July at SSAA Brisbane.

Rule 4. Each month the Highest score by a competitor shot at Mackay, Gladstone or Brisbane 200yrd Fly Branch match/ National Registered match will be entered.

Good Fly Hunting to all, until the end of the month
Shane.

Tri Branch 200 yrd Fly Postal Competition Mid-Year results.

Yep, here we are, halfway through the year already! 6 down, 6 to go and 42 Fly Shooters hunting Fly.

With all the June results now in,Mitchell Calcutt has held his nerve and retained his spot at the Top. Vincent Vaina and Michael Truscott are now locked in an arm resell that see’s just 97 Fly’s separating their scores… (Get ya head round that).

IF you think that 4th Place is just waiting for the top 3 to fall of the perch. Think again! Chris Parry is just as he always is… sitting and waiting to just deliver the final blow… when he is ready to.

To round out the Top Five… My Big Bro Brad Clow. The Top 4 better hope he never upgrades to a full custom Fly setup. That dam mass produced Bergara B14R is holding its own, with pee shooter barrel and MDT Chassis… and now thanks to Stuart Elliott and the BRT Stocktake sale  https://www.brtshooterssupply.com.au/product-tag/march/  The Mighty Bergara now wears a March Scope. Not sure if this means Brad can see better to get better score? Or see how much more he missed by… time will tell.

Anyway, half year results in the pics.

Now for the June 2023 results.
Winner for June is: Mitchell Calcutt
Fly’s Hit: Darren Law with 6 Fly’s
Group Score Aver: Mitchell Calcutt and Vincent Vaina 8.4
Best Target: Mark Lacey 59.02
Best Group: Michael Truscott 0.901”
Well Done Mitch Calcutt for taking out the June Tri Branch Postal Comp.

Great to see our highest attendance with 33 competitors this month from across the 3 Ranges. Look forward to seeing next month's action.

2023 Tri Branch 200yrd Fly Series.

How is one’s mental game after this month???
Some got to shoot in the most perfect conditions one could want! Others got the total opposite… and the scores reflected that.
So how does that play out in one’s mind as we move forward?
Especially as this is now the opening of the 8-Shoot threshold for overall placings…

August 2023 results.

Great to see 33 competitors this month. Look forward to seeing next month's action.

YTD Scores:
We now have competitors who have made it to the 8-shoot threshold for overall placing for this competition. In the YTD Score card, you will now see 2 new columns, TOP 8 SHOOTS SCORE and TOP 8 SHOOTS RANK, these now represent the real leaders of the competition. Next month we will see more names added as those who have 7 shoots against their name shoot their 8th monthly comp. The leader board will get shuffled again…
Good luck all, we have had 59 competitors shoot 200rd Fly in the Tri Branch series so far.
