Hi everyone. I have now updated shooter of the year to include the ACT Fly Championships.
As everything currently stands, a huge congratulations needs to go to Sergey who can not be beaten in either Light Gun or Heavy Gun.
Sergey will finish the year with 400 points in Heavy Gun, managing to secure first place at ACT Fly Championships, South Coast Cup, VIC State Fly Championships, and NSW State Titles. A huge effort. Well Done.
Sergey will also finish the year with 395 Points in Light Gun, managing to secure first place a VIC State Fly Championships, Riverina Fly Championships, and NSW State title, with a second place at South Coast Cup.
Although Sergey can improve his score with the upcoming finial match of the year (Little River Cup), he is unable to score any more shooter of the year points.
No Rimfire is where it gets a little bit interesting. Traditionally the final shoot at Little River has been 300m and 500m, meaning that the final rimfire match is normally the ACT Fly Championships in Canberra.
However this year the Little River Cup will include Rimfire.
Why does this matter?
Currently Michael is leading the Rimfire with 390 point (3 first and a third), however in second place is Kathy Dundas. Kathy is sitting on 372 point, but with is including 2 first and a second, Kathy can still catch Michael and secure the Shooter of the Year Trophy. Kathy will need to secure first or second place at Little River, and beat Michael by 2 places, so it will be an uphill battle, but it can definitely be done.
So who will Michael Bell secure Rimfire SOTY for a second year in a row or will Kathy come form behind to take victory. We will all have to wait and see.

I recall Serge saying at the beginning of the year he wanted to make the top 10 in each class, well he has smashed it out of the park in LG and HG and also shot very well in Rimfire. Michael Bell has certainly been the man to beat in Rimfire for the last couple of years. Melbourne here we come!
