2026 QLD Tri Branch 200yrd RF Fly Competition

Happy New Year all, and welcome to the 2026 QLD Tri Branch 200yrd RF Fly Competition.

Once again, the leader board has been wiped clean and awaits the first scores from Jan 2026.

We now have enough data from 3 years to have a look at the format, and we will trial it this year.

This year we will be changing 2 rules.

1. You will need to complete 7 shoots to qualify for Shooter of the Year.
2. We will be using the SOTY style system for calculating placings. Were you place in your local branch shoot will determine the score out of 100 that you get each shoot. The Sooty system will be applied to each of the score cards received from the branch competitions. If there are 3 Branch shoots in January, that means there will be 3 winners, 2nd places and so on down the list. As the months go on, and people accumulate points a leader board appears. (This has been trailed in the background over 2025)

Placing at your branch will get:

1st = 100 points

2nd = 95 points

3rd = 90 points

4th = 85 points

5th = 81 points

all the way down to 70th = 1 point

So, get yourself organized and get at least your 7 shoots up, best of luck!

Best refresh the basics again, of course there are some rules. Don’t get too hung-up on them… this is about having a little fun.

1. 200yrd Rimfire competition.
2. It is based on individuals scores, not a Branch against Branch score etc..
3. Shot in accordance with the National Rule book for Fly.
4. Each month the Highest SOTY score by a competitor shot at Mackay, Gladstone or Brisbane 200yrd Fly Branch match/ Championship match will be entered.
5. Tied scores: Will be tied, a Count back system is not used. Shake hands, have a Beer together, and congratulate each other on achieving the same score.
6. The winner is decided on the top 7 SOTY scores they achieve through the year 2026 from shooting at any of the 3 branches above.
7. Prizes: This is for bragging rights only!
