2025 SSAA QLD Fly Shoot Championship – SSAA Innisfail, Kurrimine Beach

5^th & 6^th of July, 8 weeks to go!

A registered match that will add to your shooter of the year points, in Lg, Hg CF on Sat, and RF Sunday.

Competitor numbers are limited.

A little detail:

We will be having our Teams event, I believe Teams "Be the Bullet", "Kaizen Tactical" and "WolfPack Precision" have entries in... The top 3, 3-gun scores will make up the total team score... good luck teams.

The Murdering Point range, is pretty flat! so, you may not need 15m tall Flag poles

... The firing line is slightly elevated.

Benches are on the high side of normal... So, make sure you have your adjustable stool if you are short, hey Vincent Vaina.

To help those deciding how to manage their gear, we will be shooting the following format for CF Saturday.

2025 SSAA QLD Fly Shoot Championship – SSAA Innisfail, Kurrimine Beach

The Inaugural Registered Fly Match for SSAA Innisfail, Murdering Point Range has been run and won.

Thanks to our host SSAA Innisfail. The range facility was immaculate… the food and drink even better… and the members/ volunteers from the branch amazing. They all worked tirelessly to make sure the Championship ran smoothly.

As this is an Inaugural event, no one yet had a Fly Patch for the SSAA Innisfail Murdering Point Range or were there any range records. So, it is a clean record slate, and brand-new patches to collect.

Friday night was “meet and greet” at the King Reef Resort on the waterfront at Kurrimine Beach. Great view, great food, cold drinks and great company.

CF Saturday: To the competitors who experienced for the very first time the Murdering Point Range challenge on Saturday, congratulations and commiserations all in one 😊, what a test of patience and trust that was… were you patient enough to wait for the flags and trusting enough to believe your plate. Because Chris Parry (HG) and Fiona Lacey (LG) showed us just how it is done. These 2 said very little, they just let their targets do the talking.

RF Sunday: What a change, overcast, warm and with a gentle breeze. Heck you would have sworn it was Wednesday Night Fly in Brisbane… This was the ultimate RF hunting conditions… AND IT DID NOT DISAPOINT! Mark Lacey from Zero to Hero in 24hrs… What did you have to drink Saturday night Mark? 1 point and 1 Fly off the national Record! Congratulations Mark.

Teams event, can’t leave this write up without quick look at those results… Was it Wolfpack, Kaizen or Team BTB…

Well done Team “Be the Bullet”, Chris Parry, Jeff Malin, Peter Albrecht and Shane Clow. 1^st Place in the Teams event. (Special thanks to Vince for providing the trophies for the team’s event).
