2025 SSAA Gladstone Gladiator Fly Championship

This is the second year SSAA Gladstone have run the Gladstone Gladiator Fly Championship.

Even though it was an unregistered match, the competition was no less exciting. With some of SE Qld’s top fly shooters venturing north to challenge the Central Qld Fly shooters.

With a forecast warm day and low winds, we all expected heavy mirage. Well, maybe next time for the heavy mirage!

500m CF first up and with really, pretty good conditions and variable mirage. Mark Lacey wasn’t letting this opportunity pass him by. Mark pulled a decent lead for the 2 Gun trophy by winning the mornings 500m CF with a 265.07 giving him a clear 18 points and 3 Flys over 2nd place Fiona Lacey with a 247.04. Shane Clow 3rd with 239.03

A quick Lunch break and into 200yrd RF class. With the mirage dropping, but the breeze picking up towards the end of the match, RF proved to be quite a challenge. Shane Clow gained some points back toward the 2 Gun Trophy wining the RF Class with a 254.03, 2nd place Michael Truscott shooting a 251.02 and rounding out the top 3 Vincent Vaina with a 235.00 (NO FLYS on you Vv)

The 2 Gun Trophy. The one and only Team Kaizen Tactical Cap Mark Lacey had done enough to secure 1st place with a 493.09, Shane Clow was so so close… taking 2nd place with a 493.06. 3rd Place was Mick Truscott with a 485.03

The Team Events was won by Team “Be the Bullet” with a total score of 978.09, 2nd place was Team Kaizen Tactical on 961.14 points and 3rd was Team Wolfpack with a score of 890.07
